Just like an Estonian eurovision entry two of our sides failed to gain a single point from this weekends activities. The 2nd XI could manage only 81 all out at home to Rothley Park but did at least take two of the visitors wickets in reply. This however as relative riches compared to Tim Neal’s patched up 4th team would could only take ten men to Loughborough Town 3rd’s. The results was a record low score of 34 all out (a record for the club in a competitive match) and a ten wicket defeat that saw the visitors back on the road by 3.30 pm.
Luckily the first team faired much better having the better of a rain affected draw at Stoughton. Kibworth put 217-7 on the board and claimed 13 points as the home team finished on 162-4. Best result went to the 3rd’s who bowled out Kettering 2nd’s for 110 and recorded a 6 wicket win. They are now 78 points ahead of third placed Stoke Bruerne with six games (including a visit to Stoke) to come.
