Big Thanks to Biffa

On behalf of all the lads who have played and represented the Under 17’s this season in whatever format, a big thanks to Tim for his time, advice, and support. Testament to all the support the lads have had through their junior time, starting with the platform put in place by Simmo. 4 players who have played 1st team cricket this season were playing in the County Final on sunday, something that we should be very proud of. A farewell to junior cricket to Tej and Ram, who are already well established senior club players and have been superb juniors.

I bit of local knowledge and the luck of the toss didnt help setting a target on sunday in difficult conditions to move the score along and a solid knock from the long Whatton opener. Had the decision gone the right way in a caught behind, maybe the pressure could have got to them, but they were strong and deserving winners on the day and unfortunently like the senior sides this year with the exception of the 3’s, it’s been close but no cigar.

Up will step some more quality cricketers from the under 15’s to fill the slots and hopefully next season the reward of a winners trophy.
