First team tumble out of Kingfisher Cup

Kibworth interest in the Kingfisher cup ended on Sunday when they were bundled out for just 44 by Banbury in pursuit of the visitors total of 161. The home side left nearly half their overs unused as the capitulated in the face of an accurate seam attack. In truth the Oxfordshire side, who were without six players due to Minor Counties commitments, should probably not have been allowed to score as many as they did after falling to 90-7 but the home batsmen were never in the hunt.

In contrast Kibworth 4th team can look forward to a second round tie in the league Junior cup after a four wicket victory over Croft. Kean Folley’s unbeaten 50 was the backbone of the home sides effort as they chased down a target of 163.
