Victory in the 20:20 group round at Ashby on Sunday put some gloss back on a poor weekend for KCC. A successful defence of at total of 164 against the home side followed on from a demolition of Market Harborough to send Matt Craven’s side through to finals day at Kibworth.
On Saturday only the 4th team had been able to claim a victory with Sam Pounds maiden hundred plus a four wicket haul helping to see off Loughborough Greenfields. Both first and second teams couldn’t defend average totals against Lutterworth & Cropston respectivley whilst the third team had their run chase holed below the waterline as they fell to 35-5 at Geddington. A skippers innings of 85 from Chris Hill helped his side hang on for a losing draw.
