Its 4 wins on the spin for the 4th team this season after an emphatic win against Grace Dieu 2nds at Fleckney Rd on Saturday
Threatened by the chance of rain the skipper invited their guests to bat after winning the toss and progress was slow from the start, with extras being the mst prolific scorer.
The tight opening spell pressure from Olly Lodge and Harrison Norton bought dividends with the youngster poaching 2 wickets in 2 balls to set up a hat trick opportunity for the 2nd week in a row.
However, it was the introduction of Chris Carson which did terminal damage to the batting effort as he recorded career best figures of 6 for 11 from his 7 overs, creating a further 2 hat trick opportunities into the bargain!
A slight wag from the tail eventually resulted in our opponents being dismissed for 88 off 30 overs and meant that we were batting before tea!
After a couple of early scares with the dismissal of Joel Senior and a first baller for Sam Pounds the ship was steadied by the stoic Chairman and the more fluent Norton who showed no nerves at taking the lead in the run chase.
Harrison departed for a well made 25 at which point Chairman was joined by son and vice captain Rob who wasted no time in putting the visitors out of their misery with an array of leg side boundaries.
So a maximum 24 points secures and we now find ourselves in 3rd place, 9 points from the summit and with a game in hand ahead of a tough trip to Thorpe Arnold next weekend.
Pleasing to see another youngster step up to the plate and the bowlers were brilliantly backed up by the fielders with fantastic catches from the skipper, Ravi Tank and keeper Elliot Lodge.
