Mick Whitmore

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of Mick Whitmore at the age of only 48. Mick played for the club for several years at the turn of the millennium as a right handed bat and occasional medium pace bowler.

He opened the batting in the 2002 County cup win over Loughborough Town, top
scoring with 45 and was part of the League cup victory over the same opponents a
year later. At the end of the 2003 season Mick returned to his boyhood club, Narborough & Littlethorpe were he was still a key member of the first team this past season.

He played seven games for Leicestershire seconds between 1982 and 1986

Mick was above all a great team player, never one to complain if dropped, who made many friends during his years at KCC who will morn his passing. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

RIP Mick
