Another big week at KCC

Another big week at KCC last week which saw us host Leicestershire 2’s V Nottinghamshire 2’s in a 3 day game.  Some big players on show in the form of Chris Read, Billy Root (brother of Joe!) and Matthew Hoggard who was hugely impressed with our facilities and the wicket as he took 8/21 on the first day!  A great effort by the ground and catering team ensured that we cemented our reputation as the best venue around.
Last Friday saw KCC host the latest in our extensive diary of charity events as we held a Coffee Morning in support of Cancer REsearch UK.
The event was organised by Lucy BIshop and there was a fantastic array of home made sweet and savoury fare on offer, together with stalls selling local arts and crafts.
The appalling weather did little to put the good people of Kibworth off from their charitable duties and the clubhouse was packed from start to finish.  Supplemented by a raffle held on the morning the event raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research……a fantastic effort and congratulations to everyone who either helped or supported.

Credit and thanks to a host of volunteers for ensuring that we got 2 home league games on last weekend in spite of there being 4 seasons in one day on Friday and we finished the weekend by hosting the Leicestershire Regional Finals of the National T20 on Bank Holiday Monday which was deservedly won by Loughborough Town.
