The 1’s slipped to an agonising last ball defeat at Earl Shilton, in spite of 79 from PJ and 39 from Adil in a total of 205/9. With the Premier Division being a tight affair this season Craven’s boys will be looking to get back to winning ways quickly and face a double header weekend as they travel to Barkby in the cup on Sunday
The 2’s turned the form book upside down by thrashing previously unbeaten Langtons with Luke Spence’s 74* the bedrock of 207/5. Langtons were dismissed for just 88 with the fit again Broughts taking a well deserved 4/19 and Cuth’ 2/26 in a great victory that moves the guys up to 6th in Division 1.
The 3’s posted 242/7 v Burton Latimer thanks to an excellent 82 from “Billy” Joel, 71 from “budget pop festival” returning skipper Greeno and 33 from the best Ellwood. Burton held out for a draw on 228/9 with some great bowling from JB, Monik, Harry and Dunc and a big winning draw was secured in a great game. The feelings of the previous week’s tame batting display were effectively dispersed and the guys now look forward to marching up the league.
The 4th team lost for the first time since August 2010 and the skipper is said to be considering falling on his sword….cant find any words to express how i feel about the game because its so long since we lost i have forgotten what to do!
So after 6 weeks of the season here are the standings:-
1’s – Premier Division – 8th Place – 32 points behind leaders Market Harborough
2’s – 1st Division – 6th Place – 24 points off 2nd place
