A great following of parents and members made the trip to Medbourne on Sunday evening to watch the U13a’s do battle with the hosts in the District Cup Final.
A good performance in the field saw the hosts restricted to 85 from their 20 overs and there were good performances from all of the bowlers, with the pick probably being Jack Bellamy and Ed Wall who ensured that runs were hard to come by in a tight opening spell.
After a slow start to the KCC innings Mahang Patel started to find his timing and the required rate started to reduce before he was retired after reaching 25*. There must be something that Mahang likes about playing Medbourne, as earlier in the week he took a hat trick with the ball, and then hit a 13 ball 25 not out! Rajiv remained stoic in defence, as Jack Houlihan maintained the increased pace of the innings by playing beautifully from the start. In spite of both Jack and Rajiv getting out late on, Harry Pounds ensured that there was to be no wobble in getting over the line by striking the winning runs with 3 overs left to bowl.
A great all round performance and well done to all of the boys who did KCC proud, and thanks to everyone who made the trip out to support.
