Death of John Garratt

The club is sad to announce the death of former Treasurer and player John Garratt. John was a right handed middle order bat for the first team in the late 1970’s and early 80’s and was treasurer of the club between 1977 and 1984. He was a regular member of the sunday lunchtime drinkers club for many years and was also reknown for his ability to fix broken cricket bats (in the days when people still bothered to do this !!). He was a real wizard with glue and wooden pins and revitalised many a piece of willow that the owner feared was fit only for the fire.

He leaves a wife, Sally and a son James who was also a junior player at the club and our thoughts are with them.
