Harry P (0/29) and Rajiv (1/9) opened the bowling & it wasn’t long before Rajiv made a break through. CCA settled but Kibworth chipped away with a wicket each for Mahang (1/24) & Akash (1/27) and with CCA at 75 off 15 overs Kibworth would have been happy. The only real highlight over the next 5 overs for Kibworth was Jack Bellamy’s removal of CCA’s opening bat just shy of his half century to finish with 2 for 29. As for CCA they managed 55 runs off the last 5 overs to finish on a very challenging 129 for 5.
Mahang & Jack opened up & after a couple of scares got to 54 before Mahang was bowled for 24, quickly followed by Harry P for 1. Two balls later Jack was caught for 18 bringing Akash & Adam together at 56 for 3 with 9 overs to go.
They took it to 85 before Akash was stumped for 14.
In came Jack Bellamy but when Adam was run out for 11 with just 4 more added things were not looking good. Rajiv then put on 10 with Jack before being caught for 1 and 8 runs later Jack was bowled for 11. Neither Josh (7) or Lewis (7no) could achieve the 15 required off the last over & by the time Harry J (0 no) came in two sixes were required from the final two balls. With a total of 119 from their 20 overs KCC suffered their first defeat at the hands of CCA who deservedly won a very good game proving too strong on this occasion.
