KCC complete the treble

An unbeaten ton from skipper Matt Craven saw Kibworth to victory in the League cup final against Loughborough Town on Sunday and sealed a treble of trophies for the club. Chasing a target of 180 for victory, Craven shared an important third wicket stand with Sunny Patel who was forced by injury to limit his usual attacking style. When Sunny was caught behind from 37 Josh Peel joined his skipper to see the team safely home with a couple of overs to spare. The win came a day after a 122 runs victory at Sileby had sealed the clubs first Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League Premier Division title to add to last weekends County Cup triumph. Sileby were bowled out for just 66 as they chased KCC’s total of 188-9 with Matt Bashford taking 5-23 and his opening partner Luke Evens 4-15. Only one Sileby batsman reached double figures in the 21 over innings. Earlier Josh Peel has been the mainstay of the Kibworth innings with 53 after Sileby won the toss and put the visitors in. Josh added 54 with Fabian Taylor (28) and 46 with Raja Hayat (31) after Kibworth had lost their first 4 wickets for just 47
