Congratulations to both 'A' & 'B' Under 15 sides who won through to the District semi-final stage. The 'B' team lost to Lutterworth 'A' at the semi-final stage but the 'A' side went on to beat the same Lutterworth side in a tense final before convincing wins of Leicester Ivanhoe and Sileby saw them crowned County Cup winners.
Victory over Northamptonshire champions Wellingborough meant that the team advanced to the Midlands finals. After beating Shrewsbury in their semi-final, Kibworth lost to Aston Rowatts by virtue of losing one more wicket in a tied final.
In the league competitions the Under 15's tied with Stoughton at the top of their group but lost a playoff for the title. The Under 13 'A' side won their District title
The Under 17 side have made it through to the County Cup final where they will meet Loughborough Town - Date and venue TBA
2009 Season
Kibworth have two junior titles to celebrate after both Under 15 and Under 17 teams won their age group competitions. The Under 15's had a comfortable 40 run win over Thorpe Arnold, whilst the Under 17's beat Shepshed Town by 6 runs to claim their title. Adil Ali top scored with 49 as Kibworth set a total of 130-4 from their 20 overs, added by 38 by skipper Tom Burton. Shepshed made a brave chase but were always slightly behind the rate and needed 17 to win from the final over bowled by Jamie Thompson. Two run outs in the final six deleveries helped to put a seal on the visitors win. The Under 15's were crowned County Cup winners after a comfortable win over Thorpe Arnold. Led by Ram Ghuman (50*) the batsmen posted a challenging 207-5 from their 30 overs and were never seriously threatened by the visitors reply
