Disappointing end to a great season

Match : South District Regional Final
Venue: KCC Top Pitch
Date : Friday 23rd August 2019
Umpire: Bob Gunn

Toss: Kibworth won toss and opted to bat

Kibworth 247 - 11

CCA 291-1

CCA produced a dominant performance to comfortably beat Kibworth, who did not do themselves justice on the day. Batting first Kibworth got off to the worst possible start losing a wicket off the first ball and this set a trend for the rest of the innings. Losing 11 wickets made the task of winning almost impossible and only Jake taking 16 off an over gave the home side at least some kind of score to defend.
A great first over by Prakash produced a maiden and this lifted the hopes of the players and parents alike. However, CCA never looked to force the scoring and their total steadily grew and by only losing one wicket never allowed Kibworth a chance to bowl themselves back into the game.
So for the second time this season Kibworth's hopes were dashed by CCA and for the boys going forward this needs to be the level they strive to achieve in the coming seasons.
On a personal note I would like to thank all the parents for their support this season and to the kids for working hard on their game and looking to improve week on week. With most of the boys now moving up the U13s next season there will be a new era for the U11's under a new manager and I wish them all the luck and support I have been grateful to receive over the past two seasons.

Thanks
Chris
