Winning start to the season

On a beautiful sunny Friday night at KCC the U11's got their incrediball season off to a winning start with an impressive win against Gilmorton.
With Captain Rory Stimpson winning the toss we put the opposition into bat. The bowlers put all the practice with Coach Peter Booth into practice and kept the runs down with some positive keeping from Guy Hirst. Megan Vinas-Bennett picked up her 1st wicket and Ryan Patel, a late call up from the Kwiks, picked up another for the team. Gilmorton finishing on 289. Chelsea Eltham and Megan got the batting off to a strong start and with all the bats showing some good skill and positive running the runs kept coming. Well batted everyone - Anya Hawkins and Heidi Bland putting on a partnership of 41 in their 4 overs and Rory Stimpson and Sam Pedley seeing us home in style to a score of 332. Some good cricket and lots of smiles especially the huge grin on Sam Pedley's face when he hit a 4 through cover!
