Kibworth U11 A's welcomed CCA 'C to KCC on Friday night and were in high hopes of a win against CCA's third team. After losing the toss and being asked to bat Drahm and Jasmine got the team off to a steady start adding 18 for the first pair and more importantly not losing any wickets. However, no sooner had that pair departed did the wickets start tumbling and by the end of the innings 9 wickets has been lost in total. Only a late flourish from Jake who scored a breezy 20 gave the bowlers anything to defend and the team ended on 237.
A wicket in the first over by Prakash gave the team hope and at the half way point of the CCA innings they had only reached 217 and lost 6 wickets. Though there was some tight bowling from Toby and Jasmine by the time the last pair got to crease CCA had got two runs a head of Kibworth's 237. Sensible batting in the first two overs by the last CCA pair meant that the pressure was really off and they went on to hit 20 off the last two overs which was a little harsh on the Kibworth side.
This Friday the Under 11 A's host CCA B and will hope with a more disciplined display with the bat that they will get themselves enough runs to give their bowling attack a chance to produce a victory!
