The Under 11 B's made the short journey to Houghton for their opening game of the season. With new head coach Simon Ward taking the side for the first time, confidence was high amongst his young and eager side. However, though Kibworth only lost two wickets during their innings and there was some nice batting from Sam Ward and Toby Hirst tight bowling from the hosts meant Kibworth were restricted to just 229.
The older and more powerful Houghton side made short work of this total racking up 300 runs without losing a wicket. The Kibworth boys all worked hard in the field and for some it was their first time playing in a hardball match so this experience will hopefully help in their development. Coach Ward will hoping for more consistency from his bowlers as they look to put more pressure on the batting team in weeks to come.
A special shout out must go to Shayan [b]who after getting injured whilst keeping wicket dusted himself down to bowl a tidy spell of medium pace.
The B's travel to Leicester Grammar school this Friday to take on the mighty CCA A's. Good Luck boys.
